Narrabeen Balcony Remediation

Balcony & Waterproofing Remediation  ·  Narrabeen, NSW

Engineer: C.H.E Engineering

Client Brief

110 Construction Management was engaged to rectify waterproofing and drainage issues associated with a failed balcony and planter box area.

Scope of Works

The remedial works included upgrading the existing drainage arrangement, with the existing 50mm floor waste opening increased to 100mm to improve drainage capacity. New puddle flanges were installed, and the existing substrate was mechanically ground to establish appropriate falls towards the floor waste. A new liquid-applied waterproofing membrane was then installed before the area was flood tested.

Our Approach

The works were carefully coordinated to address the underlying drainage and waterproofing issues rather than simply replacing the surface finishes. Substrate preparation and drainage falls were addressed before the new waterproofing system was installed, followed by flood testing prior to the tiling works.

Project Outcome

The completed works provided a rectified drainage and waterproofing system, with testing undertaken before the balcony proceeded to the final tiling stage.
